Let's Make Some Spot Beautiful - 1919 to 2025

About Us

The Tri-City Garden Club (TCGC) was founded in 1919 by Miss Elizabeth Putnam. The “Tri-City Garden Club” geographical area has grown exponentially since the Club’s founding. Due to sentimental traditions and the strong proposal from our beloved past member, Fran Hansen, our Club remains “The Tri-City Garden Club”. However, today’s club members represent eastern Iowa and western Illinois. The Club meets the second Tuesday of every month except February, July and August with a wide variety of speakers and programs including the annual Christmas Tea and the June Garden Walk through gardens of TCGC members.  Members maintain five public gardens in the Quad-City area and faithfully support local and national civic beautification and conservation projects.

Our Mission

The purpose of the Tri-City Garden Club shall be to promote the love of gardening; to aid in the protection and conservation of natural resources; to protect and promote civic beautification; to encourage and assist in establishing and maintaining botanical gardens and horticultural centers for the advancement of sciences and for the enjoyment and education of the public; to advance the fine art of gardening, of landscape design and the study of horticulture; and to cooperate with other organizations in the furtherance of natural health and beauty.
